Pittsburgh had a long list of players not practicing Wednesday and today is similar.

Elliott and Ekuale haven’t officially been placed on injured reserve but should land there before Sunday. Both suffered serious knee injuries in Week 8’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. Tomlin said Elliott hyperextended his knee that will keep him out at least the next month, if not longer. Ekuale tore his ACL, confirming on social media he’s out for the season.

Officially trading for Kyle Dugger Thursday, the Steelers could rotate Juan Thornhill, Chuck Clark, Jabrill Peppers, and Dugger this weekend. Rookie Yahya Black is expected to backup Keeanu Benton at nose tackle. Dugger had his first practice with the team today. He sat out Week 8 with a knee injury and is the reason why he’s listed on today’s report. But being a full participant is good news.

Seumalo strained his pectoral muscle during the Packers game. He attempted to return for one drive but was unable to finish the game. Frazier first injured his calf in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals but suited up and played every snap in Week 8. Even being limited, he’s expected to play against Indianapolis, too. If Seumalo can’t play, Spencer Anderson will start his first game of the season at left guard.

Freiermuth briefly left last Sunday’s game after taking a hard hit but finished. Smith is also set to play. Miller suffered a finger injury one week ago and was inactive against Green Bay. Skowronek did not miss time against the Packers but was limited with his neck injury yesterday.

Peppers practiced in full yesterday, making today’s limited participation a situation to watch. Skowronek and Freiermuth were upgraded after being limited and DNP, respectively, yesterday. Trice’s knee injury in his second practice back is the latest in a long line of injuries that have limited his availability. His status for Friday is worth watching.

Harrison, Howard, and Trice all remain on injured reserve. Harrison returned to practice more than two weeks ago while Howard had his window opened last Wednesday. Trice came back yesterday. To play this weekend, any of the three must be officially activated from injured reserve to the 53-man roster. Pittsburgh has until 4 PM/Saturday to make those moves.

The Steelers and Colts kickoff Sunday at 1 PM/EST.
