The Golden State Warriors’ hot start to the season will be put to the test with Thursday night’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. The game will be played at 5:00 PM PT in Milwaukee and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area and NBA TV.
The Warriors advanced to 4-1 on the season after beating the Los Angeles Clippers, 98-79. Jimmy Butler led the way with 21 points, while Stephen Curry added 19 points in just 26 minutes of play.
Second-year big man Quinten Post earned the start and impressed against the Clippers’ experienced frontcourt. Post finished with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three, eight rebounds, and one block. His floor spacing was a key factor early on and drew praise from head coach Steve Kerr.
The Warriors face one of their toughest tests of the season thus far as they take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks. The former two-time MVP has been on a tear to start the year, scoring over 30 points in each of Milwaukee’s first four games. He currently ranks second in the NBA in both points (36.3) and rebounds (14.0) per game, while also getting it done on the defensive side averaging 1.3 blocks.
Golden State’s defense, coming off a game where they held the Clippers to just 30 points after halftime, will need to be sharp once again for Thursday’s matchup. Expect the Warriors to lean on their defensive energy and balanced scoring approach as they open their two-game road trip in Milwaukee.
