The New England Patriots are on track to not have their starting running back in Week 9.
Rhamondre Stevenson popped up on the injury report on Wednesday with a toe issue and did not take part in practice.
Then, on Thursday, Stevenson remained in neutral, as The Athletic's Chad Graff is reporting the veteran didn't practice again.
"Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson has missed both of the team’s practices this week due to a toe injury, raising alarms that he may not play Sunday against the Falcons," Graff wrote.
The Patriots will release their final injury report on Friday, complete with injury designations, so we'll know where Stevenson stands for Week 9 then.
But, right now, it's clearly looking like he won't suit up.
TreVeyon Henderson slated for boost
If he doesn't, rookie TreVeyon Henderson figures to lead the backfield, although the lack of trust the Patriots' coaching staff clearly has in him might prevent Henderson from getting a monster workload.
Even still, when it comes to fantasy football, Henderson is the Patriots back to start this week if Stevenson is indeed sidelined.
The only other healthy back on the Pats' 53-man roster is Terrell Jennings, so New England will have to elevate another running back from the practice squad.
Those options include veterans Jonathan Ward, D'Ernest Johnson and rookie Rushawn Baker. We'd would imagine Ward or Johnson would get the call.
