Jaxson Dart has earned the honor of being named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for October.
The news comes after Dart replaced Russell Wilson with the New York Giants as the starting quarterback. Dart jump-started a stagnant offense and immediately made the Giants more versatile and fun, capable of knocking off a team on any given Sunday.
Through 4 games in October, Dart leads all rookie quarterbacks in total touchdowns (10), passing touchdowns (7), and passer rating of (90.0). He also has 3 rushing touchdowns, which is tied for first. Dart has 984 passing yards and 8 passing touchdowns with only 3 interceptions and a 59.9% completion rate on the season.
The Giants only won 1 game in October, but it was huge. The offense exploded against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football, winning 34-17. Overall, the Giants are 2-4 since Dart took the reins of the offense, but they were 0-2 before that. Instead of looking lifeless, they feel they could win any game on their schedule.
Dart seems like an excellent fit for the type of offense that Brian Daboll wants to run in New York. He also looks well worth the 25th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he will only continue to grow and improve as an NFL quarterback, especially after learning from Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss.
