When RJ Harvey fell down to the Denver Broncos at the No. 60 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the orange and blue knew that they were getting a dynamic playmaker who could bolster the backfield in a multitude of ways.
Through the first seven games of the season, Harvey had some good moments, highlighted by a touchdown reception against the Bengals to go along with 98 total yards. While he wasn’t getting a whole lot of touches as the backup to J.K. Dobbins, he was still making the most of his opportunities.
In Sunday’s 44-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys, the floodgates finally burst open, as the 24-year-old put up a hat trick of touchdowns to go along with 51 total yards on just eight touches. He found paydirt on his first carry of the day, a 40-yard scamper off the left side of the line, and capitalized again on a wildcat run on the goal line and a reception on the goal line in which there was no one around him.
As a result of his career day, he was named as the NFL’s Rookie of the Week for Week 8.

Harvey is the first Bronco to be named since Bo Nix brought it home three weeks in a row back in the 2024 season. Overall, he is the 15th player in franchise history to be nominated. Knowshon Moreno has the most in franchise history, as he nominated four times back in the 2009 season.
Harvey and the Broncos will be back in action against the Houston Texans on Sunday. That game kicks off from MRG Stadium in Houston at 11:00 a.m. MDT.
