Insider: Seahawks unlikely to trade Tariq Woolen

The trade deadline is rapidly approaching, and for fans across the NFL that means dreaming of their favorite team swinging for the fences and absolutely hitting it out of the park.

That is exactly what John Schneider has done in each of the past two seasons, adding Leonard Williams and Ernest Jones in 2023 and 2024, and this year fans are hoping for help at guard or receiver. In addition, some fans have hoped that the Seahawks might add to their 2026 draft capital by moving players whose contracts are set to expire after the season, including fourth-year corner back Tariq Woolen.

However, for those who are hoping Seattle might move Woolen ahead of the trade deadline, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo the Hawks are “more likely than not” to hold on to Woolen rather than deal him heading into the deadline.

Garofolo also noted that the Seahawks would like to keep Woolen around, and the team has not given up hope that Woolen will remain a part of the long-term plans.

A member of the Seattle 2022 draft class, Woolen is set to be a free agent in the offseason, along with fellow cornerbacks Josh Jobe and Derion Kendrick.
