After a disastrous start to the season, West Ham’s future in the Premier League hangs in the balance. A gap between them and safety is quickly opening up and this is cause for concern.

There are many, many issues with the squad, but arguably the biggest is the central defenders. Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo are by far the worst pairing in the league, with them both just being absolute liabilities. However, there has been on stand out

As someone who slated him a lot, I have to admit Mavropanos has been a rare bright spot for the Hammers, He’s looked determined, committed, and like he actually has some defensive qualities.

Frustratingly, he’s been sidelined for up to 6 weeks, a massive blow for our Irons. The idea of having to play Kilman and Todibo together for that amount of time is terrifying.

Hopefully January will bring some defenders into the club, because otherwise the Hammers have no chance of avoiding the drop.
