Giannis Antetokounmpo ruled out for Warriors vs. Bucks

The Golden State Warriors path to 5-1 just got a little bit easier. After having Wednesday off to travel, the Warriors are back in action Thursday night, visiting the Milwaukee Bucks in a game televised nationally on NBA TV, as well as locally on NBC Sports Bay Area. And, about an hour before tip-off, the Warriors received some news that certainly makes life easier for them: Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has been ruled out for the game, due to left knee soreness.

In the [injury report earlier in the day](/warriors-injury-report/104511/warriors-bucks-injury-report-giannis-antetokounmpo-moses-moody), Antetokounmpo, a two-time league MVP and one of the seminal talents in the league currently, had been ruled as “probable.” It’s very rare for players listed as “probable” to ultimately be ruled out, so Antetokounmpo must have had a flare up or something similar after going through warmups.

All NBA games are difficult, especially road NBA games, so this doesn’t make Thursday’s game easy for the Dubs. But it certainly makes it easier.
