Former Utah and longtime NFL quarterback Alex Smith will be the celebrity picker Saturday during ESPN’s College GameDay when the popular college football pregame show broadcasts in Salt Lake City ahead of No. 24 Utah hosting No. 16 Cincinnati in a Big 12 matchup.
The game marks the sixth time GameDay will broadcast from Utah, but it will be the first time Smith will be the guest.
Smith, who played for Utah from 2002-04, led the team an undefeated 12-0 record in 2004, which included a Fiesta Bowl win.
He was a first-team All-American and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He also played for Kansas City and Washington.
Host Rece Davis is at the helm for his 11th season, joined at the desk by GameDay analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban*.* College football insider Pete Thamel, college football betting analyst ‘Stanford Steve’ Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims round out the GameDay cast for the 2025 college football season.
