Spooky season is here, and with Halloween on Friday, NBA stars have also been catching the fever. Every year, players turn up in some elaborate pregame costumes. The 2025-26 season promises to be no different, and the first look is already going viral.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is extremely serious on the court; that’s why he has a championship and two MVPs. The Greek Freak is all about winning, but off the court, he’s shown that he can be very playful. So it’s no surprise that when Giannis turned up in a ‘Minion’ costume ahead of the Warriors game, fans loved it.

“Giannis really said ‘Despicable Me, but make it All-Star’,” wrote one fan. “I love this, but does he know minions are supposed to be small?” another fan hilariously said.
“Is this a hint he wants to play with Jokic since he’s Gru?” commented a fan, clearly reading too much into it. “Now he just needs to team up with Gru (Jokic),” said another, proving that this is, in fact, a popular takeaway.

“You really gotta win if you do this. Imagine having to put that back on after a loss,” a fifth fan pointed out. “I mean, come on, how could you not love this guy?” asked a sixth.
The 3-1 Bucks are taking on the 4-1 Warriors on Thursday night. This will be a statement victory for whichever team can get it. Costume or no, Antetokounmpo will be focused on getting that win. As one fan said, after wearing that, Antetokounmpo has to deliver on the court.
