Micah Parsons has been a dominant force since arriving in Green Bay this summer, and is in the midst of one of the most prolific stretches of his career.
Over the past two games, Parsons has posted four sacks, including timely and necessary sacks against the Arizona Cardinals in a comeback win and critical pressures in the biggest moments late in the fourth quarter of the Packers‘ victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers last Sunday night.
However, the stage could be set for Parsons to have one of the most explosive performances of his All-Pro career in Week 9.

Over at Pro Football Focus, Thomas Valentine argues that Parsons’ matchup against the Panthers’ offensive tackles could dictate the outcome against Carolina.
“Edge rusher Micah Parsons (92.5 grade, 1st) has been everything the Packers wanted and more,” Valentine writes for PFF. “Parsons is tied for the second-most pressures (42) in the NFL and leads all edge defenders in PFF pass-rush grade (93.0). He’ll take on two good tackles in Ikem Ekwonu (75.6 grade; 17th) and Taylor Moton (73.4; 22nd), who have allowed a combined four sacks and 35 pressures through seven games. Parsons is inevitable and has five games with at least five pressures, including four games with a 90.0-plus pass-rushing mark.”
If Parsons is able to continue wreaking havoc in the backfield, it is going to go a long way towards setting Jordan Love and the Packers’ offense to have the kind of breakout performance that Josh Allen, James Cook, and the Buffalo Bills managed over Carolina, in blowout fashion, last week.
While the Packers boast the more talented roster, and an emerging passing game thanks to Tucker Kraft’s dominance and Christian Watson’s return, Parsons’ disruptiveness may hold the key to Green Bay extending its unbeaten streak.
