The 2024/2025 season will forever be etched in the memories of Paris Saint-Germain supporters as the year they finally conquered Europe. The long-awaited UEFA Champions League trophy was added to an already glittering cabinet alongside three domestic titles, completing the most triumphant campaign in the French giant’s 55-year history.
With success came recognition:over 20,000 professional men’s footballers voted to select their FIFPRO World 11, with seven PSG players among the 26 men's finalists. The final team will be revealed on Monday 3 November 2025 at 16:00 CET via FIFPRO’s digital platforms.
Here are five of Luis Enrique's stars who have a strong claim to a place in the 2025 FIFPRO World 11 – the only global football awarded decided exclusively by the players.
Gianluigi Donnarumma
Position: Goalkeeper
Age: 26
Country: Italy
Previous World 11 appearances: 1 (2021)
The 2024/25 season proved that no setback is permanent when matched with resilience and talent. Donnarumma, now at Manchester City, endured a shaky start to that final campaign with PSG, drawing criticism for early errors – but his response was magnificent.
From the turn of the year, he became PSG’s immovable last line of defence. His heroics in the Champions League penalty shoot-out against Liverpool were only the beginning; he produced match-winning performances against Aston Villa and Arsenal in later rounds.
Domestically, Donnarumma led Ligue 1 with a 66.22 percent save rate, helping PSG record the fewest goals conceded in the competition. His transformation into a commanding, composed leader in goal made him indispensable to the club’s historic season.
