Derrick Henry became the 17th player in NFL history with 12,000 regular-season rushing yards on Thursday night. But that turned out to be just a footnote in the Baltimore Ravens’ 28-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
Two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson returned at quarterback for the Ravens after a three-game injury absence and threw four touchdown passes.
Jackson hadn’t played since sustaining a hamstring injury in a 37-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 28.
Jackson completed 18-of-23 passes for 204 yards with no interceptions. In five games against Miami, Jackson has 18 touchdown passes and one interception.
Henry ran for 119 yards on 19 carries. The former Alabama All-American became the first NFL player to reach 12,000 rushing yards since Adrian Peterson hit the milestone with 159 yards in the Arizona Cardinals’ 20-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Nov. 5, 2017.
In his 10th NFL season, Henry has 12,053 yards and 112 touchdowns on 2,483 rushing attempts. Henry ranks fifth in NFL history in rushing touchdowns.
In addition to Henry, five other players from Alabama high schools and colleges got on the field during the Baltimore-Miami game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida:
Dolphins linebacker K.J. Britt (Oxford, Auburn) made one tackle on special teams.
Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama) started at safety for the Dolphins. Fitzpatrick made five tackles.
Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (West Alabama) is on injured reserve and not eligible to play.
Marlon Humphrey (Hoover, Alabama) started at cornerback for the Ravens. Humphrey made six tackles, broke up two passes, forced one fumble and recovered another. Humphrey caused Miami wide receiver Malik Washington to fumble and recovered the loose football at the Baltimore 10-yard line with 11:03 left in the game.
Ravens defensive end Carl Lawson (Auburn) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.
Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) started at quarterback for the Dolphins. Tagovailoa completed 25-of-40 passes for 261 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.
Dolphins offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort (UAB) is on the practice squad and not eligible play.
Ravens offensive tackle Carson Vinson (Alabama A&M) was designated as a game-day inactive.
Jaylen Waddle (Alabama) started at wide receiver for the Dolphins. Waddle had six receptions for 82 yards. He lost a 36-yard reception to a tripping penalty in the Miami backfield in the second quarter.
