Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has now waxed lyrical about a manager who Everton have previously sacked.
Following a recent run of form, the Red Devils have opened up a five-point gap on Everton, who will be looking to return to winning ways on Monday evening.
David Moyes has not yet faced his former side this season, but the Blues will travel to Old Trafford in just a few weeks’ time.
Everton News columnist Alan Myers thinks Moyes can win Everton the FA Cup this season, despite the recent run of defeats.
The fortunes on Merseyside have certainly transformed since the 62-year-old made his return back in January.
However, the Man United manager, Amorim, can’t help but feel that Everton have previously let go of a quality manager.

Ruben Amorim says Everton sacked a top manager
In recent days, James Garner took a swipe at Sean Dyche, who has recently been named the new manager at Nottingham Forest.
Dyche will be taking on Man United at the weekend as he looks for his first victory in the Premier League.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Amorim has waxed lyrical about the 54-year-old former Everton manager.
“I think they [Forest] have a lot of talent. They have a very smart manager. The pressure is on us. Everyone is expecting a lot from us and that is a good thing,” said the United boss.
James Tarkowski has labelled Dyche as underrated following the difficult circumstances he worked under on Merseyside.
However, there will be no denying that it was time for a change at Everton earlier in the year following the Friedkins’ takeover.
Even Dyche admitted his time was up at Everton, with the Englishman admitting a new voice was needed midway through the season.
Amorim admitted Man United were lucky to beat Everton last season
Last season, Dyche took Everton to Old Trafford and was sent back to Merseyside on the end of a 4-0 defeat.
Dyche will face Everton twice in December as the new Forest manager, but it is what he has done previously with the Toffees that has stuck with Amorim.
During his press conference, the Portuguese manager admitted that he rewatched Everton’s last trip to Old Trafford and was amazed by how the game transpired.
“I watched the last game [4-0 win v Everton last December] while Dyche was in charge, it was one of the first ones here that we won and we were so lucky in that game,” Amorim admitted.
“You look at the result and it was not that result. It should not be that result.”
The Blues have improved a lot since then, with Moyes delighted by Everton’s summer transfer business which has added a lot of quality.
Some of the same issues will remain, but Moyes will be looking to right the wrongs of last season’s trip to Old Trafford.
