The Kansas City Chiefs have a 5-3 record entering the week nine matchup on the road against the Buffalo Bills (5-2). This is a huge road test for Kansas City against Buffalo this weekend because of potential AFC wild card tiebreaking scenarios.

They have not been the same team this season for sure, but the Chiefs are still in playoff contention for now. If Kansas City were to win this game on Sunday against Buffalo, then they could be taken as Super Bowl contenders again. If not, the narrative could potentially change for them as pretenders because they may not have necessary tiebreakers to potentially make the playoffs.

Analysts on ESPN were making their Chiefs and Bills predictions on Get Up on Friday Morning. Joe Fortenbaugh took Kansas City to beat Buffalo this weekend, but he made an alarming comment about them despite picking them to win this weekend. Fortenbaugh said,
“There’s blood in the water with Kansas City. I don’t see them as good as everyone else does. I see them as vulnerable.”
If he doesn’t see the Chiefs as good as everyone else does, then why did he pick them to beat the Bills in the first place? It is wild that Kansas City is favored by -2.5 points against Buffalo on the road this weekend. The Bills feel like the better team at home this weekend against the Chiefs. It will be another epic battle between Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
If Kansas City loses this game, they are not the same contenders they once were and are no doubt a vulnerable team. If they win, there will be major questions about Buffalo’s abilities to win with Sean McDermott as head coach.
