'Very close': £28m Newcastle United man could return to squad on Sunday at West Ham says Eddie…

**Newcastle United travel to our nation's capital on Sunday to face West Ham United at the London Stadium, live on Sky Sports at 2 pm.**

Eddie Howe confirmed during Friday morning's pre-match conference that Yoane Wissa will not be in the squad on Sunday as his comeback from his knee injury is pushed back again.

However, it wasn't all bad news on the injury front with Howe admitting (via The Chronicle) that Lewis Hall is returning to full training today.

Hall had not long been back from a long-term injury after breaking his foot in March, before he tweaked his hamstring during the 4-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise.

Lewis Hall is back in training

Lewis Hall is 'very close' to a return from his hamstring injury

----------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday's game against West Ham may come too soon for Hall to feature, but Howe has said that he is 'very close' to a return.

> _"He's very close. He is hopefully training with us today for the first time. He's worked really hard and in good shape but we will have to see how he does when he's back in the group."_

There's a chance that Hall could be on the bench, but with just a couple of training sessions under his belt, we wouldn't expect him on the pitch before the 80-minute mark.

Big Dan Burn may finally get a rest

-----------------------------------

It's still great to see that he's close, as it gives Big Dan Burn a chance to have a rest with someone else to ease the burden on the left flank.

Burn has held down the fort really well at left-back, but we'd rather have someone with the pace back there to deal with some of the attacking threats the Premier League can throw at us.

The squad is healing. Eddie Howe showed on Wednesday that Newcastle has a strong squad now, and with injured players coming back into contention it's only getting stronger.
