The San Antonio Spurs took down the Miami Heat 107-101 during Thursday night's slate of NBA games (October 30).
French superstar Victor Wembanyama was once again largely responsible for his team securing the win as he put up 27 points, 18 rebounds, six assists and five blocks at the Frost Bank Center.
The center has recently been showcasing why he was regarded as one of basketball's best prospects prior to being selected by the Spurs with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft.
He is currently averaging 30.2 PPG so far this season and leads the league in rebounds, averaging 14.6 each contest, ahead of former MVP winners Nikola Jokic (14.5) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (14.0).
Guards Stephon Castle and Devin Vassell also played a key role in helping the Spurs taking down the Heat, scoring 21 and 17 points, respectively.

Thursday's outing against the Heat was a special occasion for the Spurs franchise as the win meant the team began an NBA season 5-0 for the very first time.

Prior to defeating Erik Spoelstra's team, the Spurs took down the Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors.
Helping his team achieve a franchise-best start to a season meant a great deal to Wembanyama, as he was seen passionately celebrating with his teammates and the fans towards the end of the contest.
The Frenchman expressed pride in making franchise history for the five-time NBA champions when reflecting on the achievement post-game.
"It feels great. We didn't get those five wins randomly. We worked for it. We started this season strong, and we need to keep that streak going for as long as possible," the 21-year-old stated via ESPN.
Mitch Johnson's team will look to maintain their perfect start to the season when they head to Arizona on Sunday night (November 2) to face the Phoenix Suns.
