**It was revealed earlier this week that only one game would take place on Boxing Day this year, breaking with the tradition of having a full complement of games.**
Now the TV broadcast rights holders have finally selected "The One" and surprise, surprise, it's Newcastle United fans who find themselves having to find travel and possibly accommodation on Boxing Day.
As we suspected, Newcastle's game against Manchester United, which was scheduled for Saturday, 27th December, has been brought forward to Friday, 26th, with an 8 pm kick-off time.
The game will be shown live on Sky Sports, as will three other games over the festive period, which have seen kick-off times and dates moved around to suit.

More festive fixtures moved for TV
Sky Sports have been busy picking Newcastle's fixtures to broadcast live
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The game against Burnley on Tuesday. 30th December was originally set for an 8 pm kick-off, but that has now been brought forward to 7:30 pm for live TV.
Newcastle's first game of 2026 has also been moved. The visit of Crystal Palace has been put back to Sunday, 4th January, with a kick-off time of 4 pm.
Finally, the visit of Leeds United on Wednesday, 7th January will remain on the same date, but the kick-off time has been pushed by 15 minutes to 8:15pm.
More TV fixtures equals more money
----------------------------------
As mentioned, all four games will be shown live on Sky Sports.
At least they gave us around eight weeks' notice of the Boxing Day change, as it was starting to feel like they were going to take their sweet time in making their decision.
As we always say, the fixture changes are a faff, but they all mean more money for the club.
