Jaguars Announce Devastating Travis Hunter News

Travis Hunter is coming off of the best performance of his young career against the Los Angeles Rams in London, where he racked up eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen suggested the team was planning to use him like a No. 1 wide receiver given his breakout and the recent struggles from Brian Thomas Jr.

"You definitely look at: How much more can he handle?” Coen said. “How much more can we put him in a position to be successful on both offense and defense? And what does that look like?"

Unfortunately though, theJaguars added the star corner and wide receiver to the injury report with a knee injury on Thursday.

Hunter was listed as limited in the practice with a knee injury after practicing in full on Wednesday and reportedly showed no signs of being injured during the open portion of practice on Thursday. Fewer than 24 hours later, the Jaguars announced a devastating update regarding the talented rookie.

“Quick update: Travis Hunter was injured during practice on Thursday. He will be played on IR here shortly and he’ll miss at least four games. We’re currently assessing the injury just to determine the best course of action moving forward for Travis and for the team,” Coen said in a statement to open his press conference.

The head coach revealed Hunter is “in good spirits” despite the injury.

Hunter has played a combined 486 snaps this season, with 324 of those coming on offense. Through the first seven games of his rookie season, Hunter has 28 receptions for 298 yards and a score while also racking up 15 tackles and three pass defenses.
