Fabian Hurzeler thinks ‘it’s not a surprise’ to see Leeds United competing in the top tier

**Fabian Hurzeler**hailed the performances of Leeds United in the Premier League this year.

The Peacocks chose to continue working with Daniel Farke after he failed to return the team to the topflight in 2024, and they topped the **Championship**last campaign. There were worries that he would suffer from the same flaws that saw Norwich City relegated in 2020, but Leeds have lifted the level, winning three games and taking 11 points this campaign to sit in 15th place in the standings.

None of the promoted clubs are in the bottom three, and it looks like they are ready to put up a fight for the long haul. Hurzeler knows **Brighton**must be prepared to fight on Saturday afternoon.

*“For me it's not a surprise if you saw Leeds playing last season in the Championship, they were already impressive. Then of course they have added new players - everyone who has been promoted this season has spent good money so they're all doing well which means the league is getting more and more competitive and equal. Just look at the table and see how close it is.*

“They have a clear style of play and good patterns in in the 4-3-3 shape. [They are] very disciplined and they don't give away a lot of chances: a hardworking team who try to be there for each other and support each other. They have a good dynamic in their team. It will be a big challenge for us.

*“I see a lot of intensity, a lot of work and a lot of togetherness. We have to be clean in our positioning, good in our passing. We have to understand that we have to do basic things right. If we accept that it's a fight then I'm sure that we have quality in certain moments to play, but first of all it's a big fight.*”
