Following his recent goal against Brentford, Mohamed Salah is closing in on another Premier League record.

The Egyptian has 275 goal involvements for Liverpool in England’s top flight, made up of 187 goals and 88 assists, and he now has his sights set on overtaking the one man ahead of him.

Wayne Rooney has the most goal involvements for a single club in Premier League history, with 276 (183 goals, 93 assists) for Manchester United.

As Salah has a contract at Anfield until the end of the 2026-27 season, it seems rather likely he will break that record and then add a few more to it, potentially even being the first man to reach 300.

Here, we run through the top 10 players for goal involvements for a single club in Premier League history.

1. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) – 276 goal involvements (183 goals, 93 assists)

The recent debate about who was better between Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen was interesting for many reasons, and one of the key discussion points was about longevity.

It sometimes feels as though Rooney’s heights didn’t last as long as some expected, but he spent 13 seasons at Manchester United following his move from Everton as a teenager.

Rooney left his mark at Old Trafford and is absolutely in the conversation to be considered United’s greatest ever player.

His 276 goal involvements came from 393 games, with Rooney’s impact helping him and United to lift five Premier League titles during his time at the club.

Rooney’s most productive league campaign for the Red Devils saw him register 31 goal involvements (27 goals, 4 assists) in just 34 games in 2011-12.

2. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 275 goal involvements (187 goals, 88 assists)

As the famous story goes, Jürgen Klopp had to be convinced that Mohamed Salah was the right signing for Liverpool by their data experts. It’s probably safe to say by now that they were right.

The so-called ‘Chelsea flop’ has been one of the best players on the planet since arriving at Anfield in 2017, and before long, he will surely lay claim to this record outright. As things stand, he has 275 goal involvements in just 297 Premier League appearances for Liverpool.

Salah’s most profitable season was just last term in 2024-25, when his record-equalling 47 goal involvements (an outright record for a 38-game season) helped Liverpool to the title, his second for the club.

How many can he get before he finally departs Merseyside? Keep checking back here to find out… or just watch Liverpool’s games.

3. Ryan Giggs (Manchester United) – 271 goal involvements (109 goals, 162 assists)

There is no question Ryan Giggs is one of the best players in Premier League history, but as far as having the third-most goal involvements go, that is more down to his remarkable longevity.

Giggs played in 22 Premier League seasons before finally retiring in 2014, with his 271 goal involvements coming in 632 games in the competition.

The Wales international – who won a stunning 13 Premier League titles – never recorded more than 20 goal involvements in a single season for Manchester United, but he did reach double figures in 15 of his 22 campaigns. His 162 assists remains the most in Premier League history, regardless of whether they came for a single club or not.

4. Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) – 259 goal involvements (213 goals, 46 assists)

Speaking of Premier League legends, Harry Kane is one of the best England has ever produced, and there’s an element of sadness that he is no longer plying his trade in the Premier League.

Kane was a phenomenon for Tottenham, amassing 259 goal involvements in just 317 games before heading to Bayern Munich in 2023.

His most productive season came in 2020-21, with 37 goal involvements (23 goals, 14 assists), though Spurs didn’t really make the most of it as they ended up finishing in seventh place.

Salah is the only player on this list still at the club where he has amassed so many goal involvements, but could Kane one day return to add to his total for Spurs?

5. Thierry Henry (Arsenal) – 249 goal involvements (175 goals, 74 assists)

Not bad for a man who didn’t register a goal involvement in his first seven Premier League games, and only one in his first 14, but it’s fair to say Thierry Henry eventually got the hang of it.

The Arsenal legend ended up with an incredible 249 goal involvements in just 258 appearances in the Premier League.

Henry’s best season came in 2002-03 when he managed 44 goal involvements (24 goals, 20 assists), which was a record at the time for a 38-game Premier League season. His 20 assists that year remains a joint record for most in a Premier League campaign.

6. Frank Lampard (Chelsea) – 237 goal involvements (147 goals, 90 assists)

Before he was doing an excellent job of managing Coventry City, Frank Lampard was a highly-decorated player, and much like the Sky Blues this season, was rather good at putting the ball in the net.

In his 13 seasons at Chelsea (429 Premier League games), Lampard was involved in 237 goals, with his best season coming in 2009-10 when he claimed 36 (22 goals, 14 assists), helping him to win his third and final Premier League title with the Blues.

7. Sergio Agüero (Manchester City) – 231 goal involvements (184 goals, 47 assists)

Given how brilliant and dominant Manchester City have been in recent years and how many fantastic players they’ve had, it can sometimes get a bit lost just how good Sergio Agüero was, but his numbers back it up.

Across his 10 seasons at City, the Argentine reached at least 23 Premier League goal involvements in seven of them, with his best campaign coming in 2014-15 (36 G+A).

8. Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) – 212 goal involvements (120 goals, 92 assists)

Mr Liverpool, Captain Fantastic, Stevie G… Whatever you called him, Steven Gerrard was undeniable.

He played in multiple positions during his 17 seasons and 504 Premier League games for Liverpool, but almost always guaranteed an impact. His most productive season was somewhat bittersweet, though, managing 26 goal involvements (13 of each) in his penultimate campaign at Anfield in 2013-14, but an unfortunate slip in a 2-0 loss to Chelsea played a huge part in Gerrard being denied what would have been his first Premier League title.

9. Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) – 198 goal involvements (127 goals, 71 assists)

Another Spurs player who even neutral fans surely miss. Son Heung-min wasn’t just a tremendous Premier League footballer, he was also remarkably likeable… unless you support Arsenal.

His consistency was key. Barring his first season at Tottenham in 2015-16, Son played in at least 30 Premier League games in every other campaign until he left in the summer of 2025, and managed a minimum of 16 goal involvements in each one. His best season was 2020-21, when the South Korea international racked up 30 goal involvements (23 goals, 7 assists).

10. Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) – 193 goal involvements (145 goals, 48 assists)

Another player who ended their time with their club in the summer of 2025, Jamie Vardy is now plying his trade in Serie A with Cremonese, but he left behind quite the legacy in the Premier League.

He managed 193 goal involvements in 342 Premier League games, and unsurprisingly, his best season was when Leicester City won the title in 2015-16. Vardy’s 30 goal involvements (24 goals, 6 assists) played a huge part in Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes shocking the world.
