Wayne Rooney says two of the fastest players he ever played with played alongside him during his time at Everton.
David Moyes is battling a number of issues on Merseyside as he searches for a much-needed victory on the back of two Premier League defeats.
With Everton struggling for goals, how the 62-year-old will dream of having a player like Rooney at his disposal for the game on Monday evening.
It has got to the point where Moyes is considering a drastic striker change at Everton, with the likes of Iliman Ndiaye being mooted as a potential replacement.
Ndiaye has proven a real threat for the Blues all season through the use of his skill and pace from the right wing.
However, there are two former Everton players who absolutely blew Rooney away with just how fast they were during their careers.

Wayne Rooney names Everton duo who were absolutely rapid
Ndiaye has been clocked as Everton’s fastest player this season, but there are not too many players who would fall into the ‘rapid’ category.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Although Rooney was not exactly the quickest himself, he has admitted there were two players whose pace wowed him.
Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show, the 40-year-old named Theo Walcott and Aaron Lennon as two of the fastest players he played with and against.
“Kyle Walker is rapid. And Theo [Walcott] and Gabby Agbonlahor were rapid. So yeah, they’re the three actually who I’d say are the quickest,” Rooney admitted.
“Aaron Lennon was sharp. Like, over five yards he was so quick, so sharp.”
Ironically, Walcott recently claimed he was only one second slower than Usain Bolt over a 100m distance in his prime.
Although the likes of Ndiaye and Jack Grealish provide more quality than Walcott, the former Arsenal man certainly offered something that not many other wingers did.
Two other former Everton players among fastest-ever in Premier League
Caveated by the list starting from the 2020/21 campaign, there are two other former Everton players who feature in the list of the fastest Premier League players.
Player Speed (Km/h)
Micky van de Ven 37.38
Kyle Walker 37.31
Chiedozie Ogbene 36.93
Pedro Neto 36.86
Dominik Szoboszlai 36.76
Dara O’Shea 36.73
Antonio Rudiger 36.72
Brennan Johnson 36.70
Anthony Gordon 36.68
Amadou Onana 36.65
Amadou Onana is a potential surprise given the size of the Belgian midfielder.
Since leaving Everton, Onana admitted Jarrad Branthwaite has everything to become the best in his position.
The current Everton backline is lacking pace, and without Onana, the midfield is not exactly blessed with speed wither.
Perhaps adding more pace could be a route for Everton’s recruitment team to go down in the coming transfer windows.
