Chelsea are scheduled to make the difficult trip to Tottenham on matchday 10 of the Premier League. The Blues are currently 3 points adrift of their cross-town rivals and are placed 9th in the PL table.
Enzo Maresca would be delighted with the injury boosts he has received ahead of this vital clash. The Chelsea manager has confirmed that the Blues will be boosted by the presence of three star players for the Saturday evening fixture in the English top flight.
The gaffer was compelled to make as many as ten changes to his team that started midweek in the 4-3 Carabao Cup victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Maresca also decided to rest some legs ahead of the prime fixture against their London rivals.
Injury updates shared by Maresca
Ahead of Chelsea’s fixture this weekend, Maresca addressed the press and provided answers to some of the questions playing on the minds of the Stamford Bridge faithful. Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Joao Pedro are all expected to be fit and at the disposal of Enzo Maresca at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this Saturday.
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo were nursing injuries despite featuring off the bench against Wolves. Pedro, on the contrary, was rested completely in the EFL cup win. The summer arrival has been playing with a groin strain in recent weeks. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been quoted as saying by the Standard –
“Yes, they are OK, they are available.
The reason why Joao didn’t play against Wolves is because we tried to protect him. The same thing was with Enzo and Moi, just to give them some minutes, but the idea is to protect these players.”

Chelsea are short of options in attack
Chelsea have been strengthened with the availability of three key players in Fernandez, Caicedo and Pedro, but will still take to the field without several star men.
A glaring problem ahead of the Tottenham fixture for Enzo Maresca is the lack of options up front in attack. Following Liam Delap’s foolish red card against Wolves, Chelsea will head across town with only two options in attack in the form of Marc Guiu and Joao Pedro. Cole Palmer and Benoit Badiashile are both out injured and not expected to return to first team action until December.
The Blues will be determined to return to winning ways in the Premier League following a shocking defeat last weekend at the hands of Sunderland. The Blues can not afford another slip in the title race as they are currently 8 points behind league leaders, Arsenal.
