Reports suggest Chelsea are closing in on a move for Argentine striker .
Argentine striker on Chelsea radar
**Chelsea**‘s search for new offensive players has not stopped. The Blues have already brought in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro at the start of summer. But, now they turn their eyes towards Joaquin Panichelli.
The Argentine talent has recently been monitored very closely by Europe’s top teams. The West London club, Chelsea seems to be getting him on board while the competition is not yet too strong.
Panichelli’s move has became more urgent because of Delap’s conduct. The former Ipswich Town forward has suffered from his injury troubles once more. But, at the same time in the Carabao Cup match against Wolves he was sent off as well. Therefore , he will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming league match against Spurs.
🎙️Liam Rosenior : “Joaquín (Panichelli) is a top player, we've done quite a bit of work with him during the pre-season to try to make him run less. He has channeled his game into decisive positioning. I'm very happy to have him”.#BlueCo | #RCSAAJA pic.twitter.com/0SLNgHALju

The Chelsea’s recruitment team thinks that they are already lacking in sharp finishers. They are looking for the immediate recruits who can get used to their system right away.
Pedro’s spark fading
The young talent Joao Pedro impressed everyone with his outstanding skills and important goals in the Club World’s Cup semifinal and final. Although, he could not maintain the same performance in the Premier League.
He seemed to be the most in-form player at first with five goal contributions in the first four matches. However, the player has somewhat has seen out of touch lately. He is struggling to score or create chances for the team as well.
Author’s opinion:
Chelsea’s intent to sign Panichelli shows they’re serious about fixing their scoring problem. The move makes sense. But, what they really need now is consistency from their existing forwards before adding another name to the mix. It will be interesting to see if the Blues make any moves for a news striker.
