West Ham’s miserable start to the Premier League season has left them in a precarious position near the bottom of the table.
With just one win and 19th place looming, goals have been painfully hard to come by.
Callum Wilson has barely featured, Michal Antonio has departed, and Niclas Fullkrug is sidelined again through injury.
To make matters worse, Lucas Paquetá and Jarrod Bowen — each with three goals — have been linked with exits.
If the Hammers are to avoid relegation, securing a reliable striker in January is a must, and one high-profile target has emerged.

According to Milan Live, West Ham are preparing a move for Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus.
The report suggests the London club is “ready to sign” him if the right terms can be agreed, with AC Milan, Fulham, and Bournemouth also monitoring the 28-year-old.
Jesus, a four-time Premier League winner with Manchester City, has scored 76 goals in 229 top-flight appearances in England, though many of those came off the bench.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has described him as “unique,” highlighting his versatility and experience at the highest level.
However, recent seasons have been plagued by injuries, including persistent knee problems and a cruciate ligament tear that kept him out for over a year. He is now back in training, but match fitness remains a concern.
For West Ham, the prospect of signing a player of such quality is tempting, yet his injury history and lack of recent game time could make him another Callum Wilson scenario if he is unable to hit the ground running.
