Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Draymond Green is never one to shy away from confrontation, whether that is on the court or on his podcast “The Draymond Green Show.”
On his most recent episode, Green, as always, spoke on a variety of topics around the league and specifically took a shot at one of the best teams in the league, the New York Knicks.
The 35-year-old forward took a jab at the Knicks and their two All-Star players, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson, saying New York's championship ceiling is limited because of them.

“The Knicks, I just personally don’t believe that they’re contenders,” Green said. “I don’t think they have what it takes to win at the highest level. I think you can stifle their offense, and make it hard on them. Also on the defensive end, any time you have a couple guys on the floor at the same time, that are really key guys, who don’t really want to defend, it makes it tough to win at the highest level. And so that’s my question with the Knicks.”
Green’s assessment of the Knicks, more specifically, has to do with how they’ve opened the season and how their new head coach, Mike Brown, is handling the offense.
To start the season, Brown has had Brunson be more off the ball. His possession dribbles per touch have been down to start the season. The goal and focus of Brown’s offense are to get everyone involved and force defenses to make more rotations and decisions, rather than keeping the offense predictable and easier for defenders.
As for Towns, he’s currently dealing with an ongoing quad issue that has kept him from playing to his potential. The Knicks are not off to the start they expected, but at the end of the day, New York should be in a great position to win the East and represent it once the calendar flips to June.
