Eddie Howe demands a ‘good defensive structure’ to mark a key moment in Newcastle’s season

**Eddie Howe**outlined his expectations from West Ham as the next opponents for Newcastle United.

The Toon earned a last gasp 2-1 win over **Fulham**at St. James’ Park on the weekend, and they could put together back to back Premier League victories for the first time this campaign against the Irons.

West Ham have endured a torrid time this season. Graham Potter departed the dugout at the turn of the month, but things have not gone much better under Nuno Espirito Santo, a man renowned for drilling defensive discipline at **Wolves**and Nottingham Forest. The Irons lost 2-1 to promoted Leeds United last Friday, and their struggles show that the new head coach has a lot of work on his hands.

However, Howe has no room for complacency in his mind, and as he prepares to lock horns with a former ally at two Premier League clubs, he expects to face a strong roster of attackers on Saturday.

"It will be huge for us. It's only with back to back wins are we going to propel ourselves up the league table. There's a lot of teams around us in the table and you are looking for one win to break out of it. These next two games are big games for us."

"It will be great to see Callum Wilson but most importantly we have a job to do against him. I have spoken about how much quality he has and I am looking forward to seeing him and embracing him after the game but we have a job to do first to stop him."

"They have a group of very good players, especially in attacking areas. We need to keep a good defensive structure and limit their space. Our away form hasn't been strong enough and that is something we are looking to rectify."
