After three defeats in a row across all competitions, City got back on track with a superb attacking performance against the Foxes at the Joie Stadium.
The first half was all about Seb Naylor, with the left-back curling in a free-kick from 25 yards for the opener and hitting a piledriver through a crowded box for the second.
Mamad Sangare added a third midway through the second half with a cool finish for his third league goal of what is proving to be a prolific campaign.
The final goal of the game came in the closing stages, with Emilio Lawrence shooting across goal only for Leicester defender Kevon Gray to turn over his own line.
The result moved defending champions City into the all-important top-16 of the Premier League 2, with 10 points from seven matches.
Only those above that cut line will reach the end of the season play-offs after 20 matches.
