Macdonald said, "With Detroit (last season, Monday Night Football), we went for two days, and we felt like it'd be smarter to go one day. But going west I think is a little bit different. On the primetime games, like Christmas game, were primetime, and we went out early for that too. So yeah, this is the first time."
2. Seattle will likely need to show off their receiver depth on Sunday.
With Cooper Kupp (heel/hamstring) questionable for Sunday's game and Jake Bobo (achilles) and Dareke Young (quadricep) both out, there is a good chance the Seahawks will call up at least Cody White from the practice squad. Without Bobo and Young, and possibly being without Kupp, that leaves Seattle with just Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Tory Horton being active for the game, if the Seahawks don't call anyone up from the practice squad.
White started the season on the 53-man roster and also showed his is more than capable of making a difference when he's given the opportunities.
"That's why we say it's a 70," Macdonald said. "That's why we say it's the Ready Squad. We're not just trying to come up with sweet sayings. We're trying to build a deep team that's ready to go play at a moment's notice. So, if those guys were called upon, they should be excited for their opportunities and let's go. But you're always competing out there. You're working on your craft, you're trying to sharpen the other side of the ball, you're trying to develop your skills, and then you obviously want to stay ready for if opportunities present themselves. What we're trying to get across is like, 'Hey, look, you can go force your way out on the field.' If we can't block here, we can't cover you in practice, you keep doing that, and you keep stacking that, it's like a guy in baseball, he just keeps hitting. It's hard to keep them out of the lineup."
3. Ty Okada may get another start this season.
With safety Julian Love (hamstring) being ruled out on Friday, Ty Okada will likely get the start in his place, alongside Coby Bryant. This would be Okada's fifth start of the season.
"My answer the last time I was asked about him was, 'Hey, you don't have to play every play or solve all the issues when you're out there. You have to play within the scheme, play with energy and the plays will find you.' And I think that's what he's come to with his style of play. Not saying he can't make those plays, it's just that's what we need him to do. I think he has confidence in his role and that's when he has been able to execute. He's doing a great job."
4. The Seahawks have so much depth at the edge position.
Linebacker Derick Hall wasn't on the injury report and will be returning after missing two games with an oblique injury. With Hall returning, the edge group will be fully healthy with Uchenna Nwosu, DeMarcus Lawrence and Boye Mafe.
"It's great," Macdonald said on having all four edge rushers healthy. "It's hard to just play four guys over the course of a game, really a season. You need depth, you need rotation, especially late in games. What's cool about it is it's a lot of really good players that are competing for plays and opportunities, and even by being on the field, they're competing for certain roles that we're asking them to do once they're out there. It's great. I think we had a lot of flexibility up front right now."
5. Jalen Milroe and his emergency third QB role.
In Week 7 vs. the Texans Jalen Milroe was the emergency third quarterback and Macdonald says whether or not he serves in that role is just based off of roster management.
"Yeah. A lot of it right now is just roster management."
