The Bills made a significant roster adjustment on Tuesday, driven by injuries on the defensive line. The team announced it signed practice squad veterans Jordan Poyer and Jordan Phillips to the active roster. This move comes as defensive tackle Ed Oliver is set to undergo surgery for a torn biceps and will be out indefinitely.
The head coach stated, “A tough loss. Ed’s a really good player. He missed some time this year. He’ll get surgery. He’ll be out indefinitely.”
With Oliver sidelined, Buffalo’s depth at defensive tackle is thin. The status of starter DaQuan Jones also remains uncertain after he missed two games with a calf injury. These roster pressures created the opening for Poyer’s return to the active squad.
Poyer originally played for the Bills from 2017 to 2023, earning All-Pro honors and Pro Bowl selections during his tenure.
