Your Depot After Dark for Oct. 31.

STEELERS INVESTOR JOINS LAKERS’ OWNERSHIP

Art Rooney II is the Steelers’ owner. However, he isn’t the only one who holds a stake in the team. There are several people who are part of that group. That includes businessman Thomas Tull, who is also involved with the MLB team the New York Yankees. Now, he’s joining another sports team’s ownership group.

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Tull is part of the new ownership group that has purchased the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. He’ll be a minority partner. The Lakers are arguably the biggest team in the NBA, so that’s a big step for Tull.

Hearing that Steelers investor Thomas Tull is part of $10 billion purchase of NBA’s L.A. Lakers and will be minority partner, per sources. That will be the hat trick of sports franchise investment for him — Steelers, Yankees and Lakers.

NBA STAR UPSET WITH STEELERS

The Steelers are in first place in the AFC North, but there’s currently some frustration with them among the fan base. That’s because they’ve lost their last two games in disappointing fashion. The Steelers’ defense has looked terrible, and confidence in Pittsburgh being a legit contender is dwindling.

On Jordan Schultz’s YouTube channel, NBA star power forward Draymond Green recently spoke about how annoyed he is with the Steelers’ level of play. Green is a Steelers fans, and he’s not happy with how the team has played lately, especially on defense. While Green is an accomplished athlete in his own right, being a four-time champion, his opinion is shared by many other Steelers fans.

FANECA TOWEL TWIRL

The Steelers will honor their 2005 championship team this weekend. It’s the 20th anniversary of them winning Super Bowl XL. That was their first championship victory since their dynasty of the 1970s. Offensive lineman Alan Faneca was a huge part of that team’s success. Now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Faneca threw a key block in that game to spring Willie Parker for a 75-yard touchdown run.

WTAE’s Andrew Stockey announced on Twitter that Faneca will be leading the Terrible Towel Twirl for the Steelers’ game this week. Hopefully, that helps energize the team against the Indianapolis Colts. Considering the Colts are currently the best team in the league, the Steelers are going to need all the help they can get in order to win.
