Liverpool Are Prepared To Table‘Substantial’Bid For£79M Rated Forward But Chelsea Are The‘Favourites’

Liverpool are weighing up whether to make a “substantial offer” for Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz next summer, according to reports.

The Turkish international is in high demand, and TEAMtalk claims that the Reds are one of several teams interested in buying the player at the end of the season.

Arsenal and Manchester United are also said to be in the mix, but the biggest threat will reportedly come from Chelsea.

The Blues are currently regarded as “favourites” to sign the 20-year-old if he chooses to leave Juve.

Yildiz is in talks to sign a new contract

The winger is believed to be happy to stay in Italy but negotiations over a new deal have not gone smoothly, and that has prompted speculation about his future.

Juventus have not been able to tie him down to a contract extension so far, despite having offered a basic salary of £90,000 a week in a recent meeting with his entourage.

If an agreement can’t be reached, it will encourage Premier League teams to make bids either in January or when the campaign comes to an end.

Liverpool may see him as Salah’s successor

While Yildiz does generally favour the left flank, he is two-footed and that would make him a genuine candidate to replace Mohamed Salah.

The 33-year-old will still have a year left on his contract at Anfield next summer, but if his poor form does continue, there is a genuine chance he could be offloaded, with Saudi Pro League clubs waiting in the wings.

If that happens, the Reds need to have a successor lined up. Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise is thought to be one potential option, but Yildiz seems to be another player on the shortlist of sporting director Richard Hughes.
