Leeds United have not beaten Brighton & Hove Albion away from home in 16 years, and have failed to score on the Seagulls’ own patch for 754 minutes. This Saturday would be a grand time to change that given the games ahead.
James Milner will likely not be attempting to elongate this streak for Brighton, with the midfielder expected to be sidelined with injury against his boyhood club. But former Whites man Georginio Rutter will be looking to score his first goal of the season this weekend.
For the first time this season, Leeds are not carrying any injury concerns as they head into a matchday. That means in-form left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson is available despite being forced off early with a back issue against West Ham. This is a big boost given Leeds need to up the ante in the coming games.
The storm before the bigger storm
These next three games are vitally important when it comes to building up points. Leeds face Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool in the space of eight days at the end of November heading into December.
There is a very real possibility that Leeds go without a point across all those fixtures. So, if that is to be the case, Leeds need to acquire four points from their next three games to stay on their point-per-game average guideline.
A win at Brighton would take the pressure off the next two games against Nottingham Forest (away) and Aston Villa (home) - though, clearly, not totally. To further boost belief, United need to claim a scalp against a side that has not been woeful, frankly.
Everton were poor on opening night, and Wolves and West Ham look in dire straits. What cannot happen is going six games without a win. Victory this weekend would immediately null that possibility.

Again, please, Aaronson
Brenden Aaronson was man of the match against West Ham, putting in his best performance in a Leeds shirt for some time. Rather than a step forward, it was a step towards repaying fans for the frustration he has provided.
Aaronson’s effort can never be denied but his end product has generally been lacking - his goal against the Hammers was his first since March and he’s only missed a handful of line-ups in the time since.
The next step is consistency, something that has been a bit of a hoodoo for him at Leeds. He could well play again on Saturday with Daniel James still getting up to full speed and Wilfried Gnonto still a way off himself.
The only way Aaronson keeps his place when both players are back fully fit is to begin consistently producing - immediately. By the time both James and Gnonto are start-ready, Aaronson will have had ample time to make his mark.
This is it, you feel, for the American, who is looking to secure a place in the USA squad for a home World Cup next summer.
Calvert-Lewin cancelling conundrum
Despite his lack of goals of late, there is no prospect that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be dropped given what else he gives the side. His strength in aerial duels and his ability to make the ball stick has been vital in allowing Leeds to sustain attacks.
He is an imperative part of the system. But right now, he is a conundrum. At the end of the day, he is a striker on big money and he has just one goal from seven Premier League games, or 536 minutes. That return needs to be better - his last goal came five games ago.
Calvert-Lewin will know this himself and it would benefit everyone if he finds the net this weekend to shrug off the questions from critics. As a striker, confidence feeds confidence and getting a goal would inject fresh self-belief.
