Chelsea are in the picture to sign Boca Juniors’ Milton Delgado in the winter market.
On Thursday, we covered claims from Argentina that Chelsea are following the midfielder, who has a $20m [€17.24m] release clause. It was also suggested the Blues interest has caused panic at Boca Juniors.
El Intransigente now report Chelsea aren’t the only club looking at the 20-year-old as he’s also being courted by Sevilla and Inter Miami. The MLS side are said to have already expressed their interest.
It’s claimed Inter Miami want the Argentina U20 international to partner his compatriot, Rodrigo De Paul, in midfield.
From Europe, Chelsea and the La Liga side want to add him to their squad. The Club World Cup winners and Sevilla are battling to secure the midfielder’s services.
The South American impressed for his country at the U20 World Cup and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Boca are well aware they will receive ‘multiple formal offers’ for Delgado in January.
To avoid losing him in January, Boca Juniors’ leaders intend to offer him a new contract and raise his clause well above $20m. It’s unclear whether they’ll be successful in renewing Delagdo’s contract.
