Transfer to Wolves ‘turns into nightmare’ – Concern over player’s move

Wolverhampton Wanderers invested around €25m to buy Fer López from Celta de Vigo in June.

[Cadena Ser](https://cadenaser.com/galicia/2025/10/31/fer-lopez-y-la-crisis-galopante-de-los-wolves-radio-vigo/) take a look at the 21-year-old’s situation at Wolves, given the club’s struggles.

The attacking midfielder has been limited to 235 minutes from seven matches, with only one Premier League start. He’s failed to score and managed one assist in his side’s loss to Leeds United.

Cadena Ser say the Spain U21 international wouldn’t have imagined his move to Wolves would ‘turn into a nightmare’. They cite the adaptation process has been difficult for him. This, coupled with ‘loss of confidence’ from Vítor Pereira are the reasons for his restricted role.

Wolves are yet to register a league win after nine matches and are currently at bottom of the table. Chelsea beat them 4-3 in the EFL Cup earlier this week. López’s error led to the Blues’ third goal.

It’s not the start Wolves had hoped for, after investing over €100m last summer. López has also not enjoyed a good start at Molineux, and Cadena Ser say he’ll find it ‘very difficult’ to regain his place in Vítor Pereira’s starting lineup.
