'He'd like to': Journalist claims Richarlison alternative for Everton would approve PL transfer

Everton’s search for a new striker will likely be the priority heading into the January transfer window, with one player on the radar now keen to return to England.

David Moyes has endured eight Premier League games of striker issues already this season.

More is needed for Everton to really push on with their target for the season and the January window will see the Blues look for improvements.

Everton News is aware that Everton want to sign a new striker in the winter window after the struggles Thierno Barry and Beto have endured.

The Toffees are not the only Premier League side to be in the market for a new striker, though.

And there is one target who is on the radar of clubs across Europe who has now green lit a move to the Premier League.

Everton striker target approves Premier League move in January

It has already been claimed that Moyes would be in favour of signing Ivan Toney following his move to Saudi Arabia.

The Englishman has been playing his football with Al-Ahli, but has now seen his future come under real scrutiny.

According to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Toney is now ready to make his return to the Premier League, with a number of clubs interested.

“I keep coming back to Ivan Toney for Tottenham. You look at what he did with Thomas Frank at Brentford,” he said.

“I think he’d like to come back to the Premier League, obviously financially it might be a difficult deal, but that just looks a perfect fit to me for Spurs either in January or next summer.”

Crook may think the 29-year-old would be a good buy for Spurs, but Everton signing Toney could be a great fit, with the Blues needing a new number nine.

However, if Toney was to make the move to north London, it could well kickstart a striker domino in the January transfer window.

Ivan Toney to Tottenham could force Richarlison to Everton

Everton News understands that Richarlison wants to return to Everton and play at the Hill Dickinson Stadium again.

That is a deal that would be on the higher end of what may be capable for Everton in the January market.

Alan Myers has reservations over a January move for Richarlison, though.

If Spurs are to bring in a player like Toney, then there may well need to be a player sale to create some room financially for the striker.

Richarlison is desperate to make Brazil’s World Cup squad and that is going to require regular minutes in the starting XI.

An interesting few months lie ahead of both Everton and Spurs in their searches for striker upgrades.
