Here are a few notes to know ahead of Week 9:

The Person Behind The Viral Drake Maye Account

Though it's likely a few people checked if the Twitter handle DrakeMayeLover was available after his breakout season, those who follow the team and the NFL knew the answer to the question before having to check.

DrakeMayeLover has become a thing online, and this week, Sports Illustrated's Patriots team site published a profile with the person behind the account.

According to a Worcester Telegram & Gazette report, the Patriots may owe about 90,000 fans up to $100 after a judge approved a $2.16 million settlement that a team smartphone application was in violation of federal privacy laws.

The lawsuit was filed in 2024 by a man from Uxbridge, and the settlement was approved this week.

A website has been set up to submit a claim and has eligibility information.

Salute To Service Nominee

The New England Patriots have announced their nomination for the 2025 Salute to Service Award.

The team has nominated security staffer Fred Waggett.

Waggett has been a steadfast member of the Patriots security team since 2009 and is a veteran who served in both the United States Army and Navy.

After each event at Gillette Stadium, he places flowers at the POW/MIA seat as a tribute. On Memorial Day, he ensures fresh flowers are placed there.

When the north end zone was renovated and the Row of Honor relocated, Fred saw an opportunity to preserve and extend its legacy. He secured the original POW/MIA seat and arranged for its permanent display in Foxborough with a commemorative plaque.

Local Cop, K-9 Honored For Heroic Actions

At last week's game, a Milford police officer and his K-9 partner were recognized for the actions that saved a life earlier this year.

Officer Brian Sanchioni and his K-9, Titan, were recognized for their courageous actions during a life-saving incident. The pair responded to reports of a missing 8-year-old boy on April 28 and was able to rescue the child after finding him clinging to a small tree in a body of water, police said.

Thanks to Officer Sanchioni and his partner's quick response, the boy was brought to safety.
