Newcastle United have had some good news ahead of their clash with West Ham.

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has been speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with West Ham on Sunday. The Magpies head to London having had a below-par start to the season, currently in 12th place, although they are only three points off the European spots.

Newcastle will have loftier aims than that, with a Champions League spot likely their aim for the season, and they are now trending upwards having won each of their last three games across all competitions, beating Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, Benfica in the Champions League and Fulham in the Premier League.

All things considered, the Magpies will be heavy favourites for the London Stadium clash, and things are also coming together for the North-East side on the injury front.

Lewis Hall, who has only managed three Premier League games all season due to injury, is now on his way back. "He's very close,” Howe said in his pre-match press conference. “He hasn't trained with us yet, so hopefully he'll be training with us today for the first time. We'll see how he looks. He's worked really hard, looked after himself, looks in good shape, but we will have to reintroduce him at the right time."

On injury news in general, Howe added: “No fresh injuries. We are still managing Will Osula's ankle - we will see how he is today. But apart from that, we are as we were."

As far as West Ham are concerned, Dinos Mavropanos is the only fresh concern alongside the existing injuries of Niclas Fullkrug and Oliver Scarles. Santo said of Mavropanos: “Dinos has started his fitness programme now and had his first session on the grass, so I expect a couple of weeks more for him to be totally available.”
