Cameroon star Karl Etta Eyong was reportedly a loan target for Rangers during the summer transfer window.
But the striker's explosive exploits in front of goal since swapping Villarreal for Levante have now seen him linked with a move to a whole host of elite clubs throughout Europe.
Reports in Spain claimed that Gers saw a loan bid thrown out by Villarreal in August shortly before Eyong completed a €3million (£2.6million) transfer to Levante.
The 22-year-old has lit up La Liga with four goals in his first five appearances and leading Spanish outlet MundoDeportivo now claim that he is on the radar of none other than Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United.
They add that the Eyong already has his sights on a departure from Levante and that clubs in Spain will be able to buy the player for €30million (£25million), while teams elsewhere will have to fork out €40million (£35million) for his services.
Meanwhile, ex Rangers youth prospect Lancelot Pollard is on the move again, joining his eighth club before the age of 19.
The Light Blues snapped up the teenager in a £100,000 deal from Aberdeen two years ago but he lasted just 12 months in Govan before heading to the Netherlands with Sparta Rotterdam.
However, the midfielder returned to Scotland six months later to join Montrose, making his senior debut with the League One club. He left the Angus side at the end of his contract in the summer, dropping down two divisions to sign for Albion Rovers.
Scotland youth international Pollard, 18, has featured heavily for the Wee Rovers in the early part of the season but has now moved onto Lowland League rivals Clydebank.
And his new manager Gordon Moffat feels they have a real talent on their hands. He said: "It has probably been a few weeks in the making to be honest but we’re delighted to get there in the end with him.

"We obviously played Albion Rovers not too long ago and because of that we’re watching a lot of footage and games in the Lowland League as you would imagine with us being new to the division.
"He was someone who really stood out to us but we waited and wanted to show Albion Rovers some respect until we had played them, then I’d spoken to Sandy (Clark) about it and we’ve managed to get something done.
"He’s 18-years of age and is an amazing young talent. We know he’ll still have wee bits of pieces to learn how to fit in with us off the ball but what a talent he is. He’s got that real youthful energy and enthusiasm and everyone can see his ability on the ball.
"Those areas behind the striker, whether it’s the 10 or wide, he gives us another option. It’s something we’ve been looking at in terms of bringing that bit of youthfulness with legs and energy to the group.

"Speaking to Lancelot and his father, there is going to be that wee settling in period with us but we’ve already seen in this division that he can perform at a very high level.
"We’ll have to maybe wait to see him as he got a wee kick in his calf in the last game he played for Albion Rovers but hopefully we can get him back training in the next week or two and we’ll see him."
