It was never going to be easy for the New York Knicks, who dropped their third-straight game on Friday against the Chicago Bulls.
The Knicks fell to the Bulls by a score of 135-125 on Friday, making it their third straight loss after starting the season 2-0 with wins over the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.
The good news for the Knicks is that it is still early, and they still have 77 more games to figure things out. Head coach Mike Brown spoke with reporters after the loss to Chicago about how he anticipates his team to bounce back following its sluggish start.
“We've lost 3 in a row. We've hit some adversity early,” Brown said. “I'm interested to see how we respond.”
It was never going to happen overnight for the Knicks, who are undergoing a massive identity shift in Brown’s system compared to that of Tom Thibodeau’s that the Knicks ran for the last five seasons. Empires aren’t built in one day, so overreacting to the Knicks’ slow start would be premature.
New York will have its first chance to bounce back on Sunday against the Bulls once again. The Knicks will play seven straight home games before departing to Miami for a matchup with the Heat on Nov. 17, so they’ll be looking to right the ship on the homestand.
