Spurs vs Chelsea | There's something about this kick-off time...

It's the big one. The London derby against rivals Chelsea in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

With all eyes on the 5.30pm kick-off, that start time has been good to us in recent seasons with a strong record of eight wins in our previous 10 league games in this exact slot.

Keeping seven clean sheets in the process, we have won each of the last two such matches against Manchester City (4-0, November 2024) and most recently West Ham United (3-0, October 2025) away from home. Looking at our 5.30pm home record, we have won 12, drawn four and lost only twice in those 18 top-flight games since 2010.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have only won two of their last 11 league games kicking off at this time on a Saturday (D4, L5). Despite winning their last such fixture, beating Liverpool 2-1 last month, Enzo Maresca's side have lost all three of their away games at 5.30pm.

Thomas Frank will be looking to turnaround our fortunes against the Blues to continue his promising start with us currently third in the league standings and a victory in his first taste of this storied rivalry in the Spurs dugout would see us climb to second.

Chelsea were defeated 2-1 by Sunderland at Stamford Bridge last time out in the league and come into this contest having lost three of their last five league games to sit three points behind us in ninth.

Despite us winning once in our last 13 Premier League games against the west London club, Thomas himself has lost just twice in his eight league meetings against them whilst in charge at previous club Brentford (W3, D3) but is winless in home fixtures.

Achieving 13 of our 17 points this season on the road, our home points have come through a 3-0 opening day win over Burnley and a 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers so what better way to improve on this with a huge three points in N17 this weekend.

Here are some other headline pre-match facts, courtesy of Opta, ahead of the London derby:

* Only Arsenal (7) and Chelsea (6) have scored more Premier League goals from corners this season than us (5), while in the last two seasons only the Gunners (21) have more than Spurs (15).

* Victory in this game would see Thomas Frank become our fifth manager to win as many as six of his first 10 Premier League games in charge of the club after Martin Jol (six), Tim Sherwood (seven), Antonio Conte (six) and Ange Postecoglou (eight).

* We have won just one of our last 17 games against Chelsea in all competitions (D3 L13), losing each of the last four in a row since a 2-0 home win in the Premier League in February 2023.

* Chelsea have lost three of their last five Premier League matches (W2), more than they’d lost in their previous 16 combined (W10 D4 L2). In just two of their previous 30 seasons have they had four defeats in their opening 10 games of a season, doing so in 2015-16 (5) and 2023-24 (4).

* Last time out against Everton, Micky van de Ven became the first defender to score twice in a Premier League game for Tottenham Hotspur since Jan Vertonghen in March 2013, who also did so on Merseyside against Liverpool. The Dutchman is also the top scoring defender in the competition this term (3).

* Micky's next appearance will be 50th in the competition, with Spurs averaging 1.7 points per game in games that feature him compared to just 1.11 without him since the start of 2023/24.

* Five of our 17 Premier League goals this season have come via headers (29.4%), with those goals coming in two games (2 v West Ham, 3 v Everton). It’s their highest percentage of headed goals in a season since 1998/99 (16/47, 34%).

* Richarlison has scored three Premier League goals against Chelsea, all coming on home soil for Everton and putting the Toffees 1-0 up in those games.

* Since the start of 2023/24, Xavi Simons have registered 26 goal involvements in 30 home league appearances across spells with Leipzig and Spurs (12 goals, 14 assists).

* Each of Chelsea's last eight Premier League goals have been scored by different players, while only Arsenal (11) have had more different goals scorers than the Blues (10) in the competition this term.
