Halloween is on Friday, but for Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, it’s a day just like the other 360-plus ones in a year.
“[It’s] Halloween, huh?” LaFleur said on Friday, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN. “We’ve got a big discussion with my assistant Darryl. I was like, ‘I don’t give a s— if it’s Halloween, all right? We’re trying to win a game. Period.’ Well done, Wahlers. It’s a Friday in the National Football League, that’s what day it is.”
What’s more important to LaFleur clearly is the upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday,
LaFleur doesn’t want Green Bay to lose its momentum, as the Packers are on a three-game win streak. The team hasn’t lost since emerging from a Week 5 bye, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals, Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers in succession to go up 5-1-1 — the best record in the NFC North standings.

The video of LaFleur bluntly sharing his thoughts on Halloween was also shared online by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, garnering several reactions from Packers and football fans on social media.

“This is the most fire I’ve seen from Lafleur in a while but unfortunately it’s an interview 😂,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “They guys better show up at his house like Favre did Holmgren.”
From a commenter: “Looking like no trick or treating for his kids tonight.”
“Jordan Love, Elgton Jenkins, and Tucker Kraft HAVE TO show up in costume at his house tonight.,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “Great answer, Coach. Halloween is a ridiculous “holiday” anyway.”
Said another: “Pretty sure Matt got a toothbrush, some circus peanuts, and a lint caked Werther’s in his trick or treat bag today.”
Halloween or not, it’s on to the next game for the Packers, who won, 33-30, the last time they shared the field with the Panthers in 2023.
