Arsenal ‘actively monitoring’ player with ‘explosive potential’ – Battle with Barcelona could be on cards

Arsenal are ‘actively monitoring’ the progress of 15-year-old forward Laciné Megnan-Pavé at Montpellier.

That’s according to Sport.fr, who say Arsenal and Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the ‘rising star’ in France.

They explain that the 15-year-old is attracting the attention of scouts around Europe. He’s a ‘true gem’, impressing with maturity and ‘exceptional statistics’. He managed 15 goals and 12 assists in 24 games with the U17 National Team last season.

This year he’s been promoted to the U19s, despite being three years younger. He’s also captain of the French U16 national team. He’s seen as the player who ‘embodies the new generation’ at Montpellier.

This ‘explosive potential’ hasn’t gone unnoticed by Arsenal or Barcelona. They are now actively monitoring his progress at the French club.

Montpellier are aware of the talent they have at this disposal. They are keen to secure the youngster’s future as quickly as possible. According to L’Equipe, their plan is to offer him a three-year professional deal as soon as he turns 16.

L’Equipe also reported last month that Arsenal were targeting the youngster. In fact, they reported that the Gunners considered him an ‘easy target’. It appears that their attention hasn’t gone yet, and they’re continuing to scout him ahead of a possible move.
