A free week will have provided new head coach Sean Dyche more time to run the rule over his Nottingham Forest squad.

Two games in quick succession made it a busy first week for Dyche following his appointment last Tuesday. The Reds triumphed over Porto in the Europa League then lost 2-0 away to Bournemouth on Sunday.

Manchester United are the visitors today (3pm kick-off) for Dyche's third match in charge. With no midweek fixture in the build-up to this one, the Forest boss has been able to spend time on the training ground with his group.

As with predecessors Ange Postecoglou and Nuno Espirito Santo, the new man faces the challenge of helping the Reds' summer additions to settle. Thirteen signings were made during the last transfer window - albeit Cuiabano immediately went back to Botafogo on loan - and the newcomers have had mixed success so far this season.

On paper, Dyche has a very good squad to work with. However, results have not reflected the talent Forest have in their ranks.

In addition to helping some of those players still adapting to English football to find their feet, Dyche needs to get the best out of some of his key men. The likes of Matz Sels, Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White are yet to hit the kind of heights they managed last term.
