Sunderland will hope to continue there positive start in the Premier League as they face an Everton side with just one win in seven.
The Black Cats have enjoyed life back in the division and they currently sit forth, only five points behind lead leaders Arsenal.
Last weekend, Sunderland won late on at Stamford Bridge thanks to a Chemsdine Talbi 93rd minute winner.
Managed by Regis Le Bris, the Frenchman secured promotion back to Premier League in his first season in charge and following an active summer window with signing like Granit Xhaka, Habib Diarra, Robin Roefs, Omar Alderete and Nordi Mukiele all hitting the ground running.
So far this season they've beaten Nottingham Forest, West Ham, Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers and will be hoping to add Everton to that list, who were beaten 3--0 by Tottenham Hotspur last time out.
It will be the first time since former player and local hero Jordan Pickford will returning to the Stadium of Light. The 31-year-old was a standout in the 2016/17 season where Sunderland finished 20th, but on the back of it got a move to Everton where he was the third most expensive goalkeeper at the time.
It will also be the first time since David Moyes has returned to the North East as he was the manager during that dismal campaign.
Last time on their travels the Toffees were beaten by Manchester City but did create some big chances in the first half which they have to start capitalising on.
It was the same story against Thomas Frank's side where the Blues were wasteful and conceded two goals from a corner. The last time both sides faced each other in the Premier League Everton won 2-0 at Goodison Park. Romelu Lukaku scored three past Jordan Pickford as Everton won 3-0 at the Stadium of Light
Sunderland
The Black Cats could have both defender Omar Alderete and winger Simon Adingra back to face Everton.
Signed from Getafe this summer the Paraguayan has played a key role in Sunderland's bright start to the season, and scored the winner in 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
**Adingra**has only featured six times this season, getting one assist in between.
Regis Le Bris's side are still without midfielder Habib Diarra.
Everton:
David Moyes has confirmed that his side will still be without defenders Jarrad Brathwaite and Nathan Patterson.
Brathwaite suffered a set-back with his hamstring injury, which has now required surgery.
Patterson is out due to a groin issue.
Likely Line-up
Sunderland:
Rofes; Mukiele, Ballard, Alderte, Reinildo; Xhaka, Sadiki; Traore, Talbi, Le fee; Isidor
Everton:
Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner, Dewsbury-Hall; Grealish, Barry, Ndiaye
Key Players
Sunderland - Wilson Isidor
Signed from Zenit Saint Petersburg last season Isidor played a key role as Sunderland got promoted through the play-offs. The 25-year-old scored13 goals and has kept that form continuing in the Premiere League.
So far this campaign Isidor has scored four goals in nine games, including a 96th minute winner against Brentford. Last weekend the Frenchman reacted quickest to equalise against Chelsea.
Isidor is quick and strong, while being a bit of a fox in the box, so the Everton defence will have to be alert to stop the Frenchman extending his goal tally.
Everton- Iliman Ndiaye
The 25-year-old is Everton's dangerman with the winger possessing fast and sharp dribbling to get past his full-back with ease.
The Senegal international has started to become a creative threat for the Blues creating numerous of chances in the 3-0 defeat to Spurs.
Ndiaye has the productivity to hurt Sunderland and so far this season has three goals and one assist in nine games.
