Guido Rodríguez wants to leave West Ham United in the January transfer window. He is ‘extremely unhappy’ at his playing time at the London Stadium.
That’s according to Fussball Europa, who report the midfielder is actively looking to leave West Ham in January.
According to their information, West Ham had already put the Mexican midfielder ‘on the chopping block’ several weeks ago. In fact, had everything gone to plan in the summer he would have been sold already.
Fenerbahçe and several clubs from Brazil were among those interested in a summer transfer. However, the overall package for him was too expensive for the interested parties.
Rodríguez earns €3m per year at West Ham. That’s a figure not every club can afford or are willing to pay. Now he’s looking to find more suitors in the January transfer window.
West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo has also reportedly made it clear to Rodríguez’s representative that he is no longer part of his plans. The idea is for all parties to find ‘viable alternatives’.
What may help any suitors is that his current deal expires in the summer. That may force West Ham to accept a lower figure to ensure they can get a fee for the midfielder.
