During the offseason, Myles Garrett requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns, and at the time, it appeared he meant it. He went very public with his demand and refused to even negotiate with the Browns. It seemed like his time in Cleveland had come to an end.

But then, in March, Garrett ultimately agreed to a four-year, $160 million contract extension with the Browns, keeping him in Cleveland through 2030.
However, with the Browns getting off to a miserable 2-6 start this season, Garrett has shown visible frustration multiple times which led many to wonder if a split was finally coming. Trade speculation has suddenly surrounded Garrett again, and with the Nov. 4 trade deadline looming, some wondered if Cleveland could move the superstar defensive end.
But Dianna Russini of The Athletic has shut down the Garrett trade rumors.
“Cleveland star Myles Garrett is not getting traded,” Russini wrote. “Teams have checked in, but as one high-ranking source texted: ‘He's a Brown and will remain a Brown.'”
Garrett has already logged 31 tackles and 10 sacks this season. Last week, he racked up five sacks in what ended up being a 32-13 loss to the New England Patriots.
The Browns could probably land quite a haul if they did decide to move Garrett, who has now posted double-digit sack totals in eight consecutive seasons. They almost certainly would land multiple first-round picks.
But obviously, Cleveland is planning on keeping Garrett around for the long haul. Time will tell whether or not that ends up being a mistake, as Garrett tends 30 years old in December, and the Browns are not remotely close to contending.
It stands to reason that Garrett may be past his prime by the time Cleveland is ready to win again, but right now, the Browns’ message is clear: Garrett isn’t going anywhere.
Cleveland originally selected Garrett with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has gone on to make six Pro Bowl appearances while also earning a Defensive Player of the Year award.
