What Ethan Ampadu and Leeds United players did upon seeing Georginio Rutter at Brighton

Leeds United take on Brighton on Saturday, which has seen Georginio Rutter reunited with his former teammates.

It’s been over a week since Leeds United got back to winning ways with a vital three points against West Ham at Elland Road, but Daniel Farke’s side are finally back in action on Saturday.

Leeds have travelled down to a very unhappy hunting ground on the south coast to take on Brighton, hoping to get their first ever win at the Amex. The Whites haven’t even scored there since 2012.

It will take a big performance to change that around and Leeds will have to stop a player they know all too well in Georginio Rutter.

Leeds sold Rutter to Brighton for a record transfer sale in the summer of 2024 and he is up against his former side for the first time since.

Ethan Ampadu said hello in a very funny way.

Ethan Ampadu jokingly slaps Georginio Rutter in reunion

After the two sets of sides had concluded their warm-ups ahead of the mid-table clash, Rutter headed towards the Leeds backroom staff to say hello.

As the Frenchman was hugging his old colleagues, the devious Ampadu sneaked up on him and jokingly delivered a jumping slap to the back of his head, as Graham Smyth reports.

Leeds fans haven’t been quite as friendly, and there has been a spattering of boos when Rutter touches the ball.
