John Terry says one Chelsea player has been‘unbelievable’ this year

Chelsea legend John Terry has singled out one Blues star for his brilliance this year.

If you look at Chelsea’s current squad, there are definitely some talented individuals playing at Stamford Bridge. Head coach Enzo Maresca has done well with plenty of them, too.

Chelsea want a squad that is longer lasting, hence the emphasis on young players, but it means they do lack a bit of experience and know-how.

Even within the group, there are still some leaders appearing.

John Terry super impressed by Moises Caicedo

According to John Terry, Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo, 23, has been “unbelievable” with his performances.

When picking between Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Chelsea’s Caicedo, Terry responded via TikTok: “Well, both of them. I think as a holding midfielder you’re the most underrated player in football, regardless. I think the work that they do is incredible. Caicedo has been unbelievable this year for Chelsea…”

In terms of the 2025-26 campaign so far, Caicedo has picked up where he left off last season.

The all-action central midfielder is renowned for his defensive attributes, breaking up play and protecting the back four with ease. On top of that, he’s also scored four goals in 13 appearances across all competitions this term.

It is fantastic news that Chelsea have started contract negotiations with Caicedo’s camp because they want to reward him with improved terms.

Chelsea’s top scorers in the Premier League

Although we love the fact that Caicedo is weighing in with goals this season, it is slightly alarming to see him at the top of the team’s scoring charts after nine games.

Here is a look at Chelsea’s top scorers so far in the 2025-26 Premier League:

Player Goals

Moises Caicedo 3

Enzo Fernandez 3

Joao Pedro 2

Pedro Neto 2

Trevoh Chalobah. 2

There is clearly a responsibility on the squad as a whole to chip in without an obvious 20-goal frontman.

It is worth noting that the Blues haven’t had a problem scoring goals in the last few months, but we’re not sure how sustainable that is over the course of an entire season.
