Blindkilde Brown: I’m learning from Yui every day

Laura Blindkilde Brown says she is learning from the best teacher as City claimed a 1-0 win over West Ham at the Joie Stadium.

Andree Jeglertz’s side came away with all three points and a well earnt clean sheet at the Joie Stadium as we extended our unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions.

Aoba Fujino’s 26th minute strike helped us to record our fifth home win in a row as we lie just one point off top spot.

Blindkilde Brown explained that we fought hard to keep hold of our lead as West Ham looked to test our defence.

And she also discussed how important it was to persevere and keep a clean sheet for the first time this season.

“I think it was a tough battle, but we managed to get the three points in the end and that’s all that matters,” she said.

“I think we have struggled in the past with keeping a clean sheet so to do that today was really important for us and we’re really glad that we did.

“I think we just take every game by game and we try and just focus on the game individually and I think that’s what we’ve been doing so far, but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves.

“I think that’s what’s so special about our team, we grind out wins no matter what it is, I think we could’ve put the game to bed maybe a bit earlier, but we still managed to defend the win, so that was all that was important.”

She also believes she is learning from the best every day and that we can use today’s performance as motivation going into Everton.

“I’ve been really enjoying it at the moment [playing under Andree] I’m just trying to take it game by game and there’s still a lot of things for me to improve on and I’m learning from Yui every day, so she’s one of the best teachers around,” she added.

“It’s just about seeing if we can put the game to bed earlier, we had a lot of chances that we could’ve scored from and we could’ve won the game earlier, so probably trying to just take that into next week.”
